Description
I've taken some references from the sci-fi novel saga "The Expanse". In 2250 the whole planet is under the government of the United Nations, which include not only the earth, now called Terra, but also the moon, called Luna.
In this series Terra is divided in some administrative territories. The novel doesn't specify which, so I made up 16 administrative territories with their flags. Some of then exist nowadays, like Europe, the Union of South American Nations or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Moreover, the sea level has risen 15m, so many coastal cities have disappeared, like Venice or Kolkata, and others has been founded near the disappeared, like Shin Tokyo or Bangkok Mai.
The world population is nearly 30 billion people, more concentrated in cities. In the map I tried to represent every city with more than 1 million people.

Was any specific methodology used to determine the 16 regions? Or was it just a matter of "what arrangement of borders looks nice"?
